A Scottish company, deltaDNA, specialised on player engagement tools for game-makers, reached N-iX Game & VR Studio to enhance their services by developing SDK for one the most widely used game engines, Unreal Engine 4.

DeltaDNA is a game analytic platform that provides an end-to-end solution for publishers and developers pointed on gathering in-game data and making games more responsive to the preferences of its players.

When deltaDNA reached N-iX Game & VR Studio, they already had a wide range of big data tools for Unity-based products and wanted to extend their field of expertise by creating a development kit for Unreal Engine.

The client already had started the development of the Unreal Engine SDK but wanted to upgrade its feature list and development workflow significantly in a timely manner.


N-iX Game & VR team quickly established productive cooperation with deltaDNA inner designers and started the development process.

Firstly our team implemented the basic functionality, which included event-triggered campaigns, cross-promotion, and handlers for default events. This enabled tracking players data and launch particular events on the occurrence of a specific activity.

For processing and sending the game data to the deltaDNA servers, our team used HTTP requests. If during this request, the internet connection is malfunctioning, the data will be saved in the user’s cache and resent when a connection is restored.

To make the Unreal Engine SDK more accessible, we paid great attention to creating blueprint nods, which made it possible to apply changes without advanced C++ knowledge.

Additionally, N-iX Game & VR team was responsible for the development and quality assurance of Android and iOS-based plugins.


N-iX Game & VR Studio developed Unreal Engine 4 SDK, which included plugins for Android and iOS and quality assurance of the project. Additionally, our team provided deltaDNA with detailed supportive documentation and implementation of the blueprint node system made usage of SDK possible, even without advanced knowledge of C++.
