VR Game Development

We build virtual reality games across all major platforms, from standalone headsets to PC VR. Our VR services cover everything from game design and engine implementation to platform certification and post-launch support.

what we offer

N-iX Games has been building VR and AR projects since 2016, well before the market reached its current scale. Since then, we have shipped over a dozen XR projects across a range of platforms and use cases, and built a dedicated practice around it. The VR gaming market has matured significantly — hardware is more accessible, audiences are more familiar with it, and the expectations for what a VR game can be have risen sharply. We have kept pace with every shift.

Our team works across the full VR development stack: game design adapted for immersive interaction, engine implementation in Unity and Unreal, platform optimization, and post-launch support. Whether you are building a standalone VR title, a multiplayer experience, or adding a VR mode to an existing game, we have the proven technical depth to deliver it.

  • VR Game Development

We handle end-to-end virtual reality game development across standalone and PC-tethered platforms. This includes game design, engine implementation, interaction systems, performance optimization, and platform certification from the ground up.

  • AR Applications

N-iX Games builds augmented reality and mobile VR experiences for both standalone headsets and mobile devices, delivering immersive experiences that perform reliably within the set constraints of target hardware.

  • Enterprise MR Solutions

Through our dedicated branch N-iX MR, we design and build mixed reality solutions for training, simulation, and enterprise applications. Our portfolio spans industries including energy, sports, manufacturing, and beyond.

Tell us about your project, and our technical design team will map out a detailed plan for how immersive technology can serve your goals.

Why Us?

Hardware knowledge

We have shipped solutions on HTC Vive, Oculus Quest 2 and 3, PlayStation VR2, Valve Index, Pico, HP Reverb, Magic Leap 2, and HoloLens 2. Each platform has its own rendering constraints, input model, and certification process. We know them well enough that none of this comes as a surprise mid-production.

Engine expertise

Our engineers are fluent in Unity, Unreal, and used to work with proprietary tools. Both Unreal anf Unity have mature VR toolchains – which one is right depends on your visual targets, performance requirements, and whether you have an existing codebase. We advise on this during pre-production, and have senior engineers in both. We have built multiplatform, multiuser real-time VR experiences that run across headsets, PC, and mobile with cloud-backed infrastructure.

Dedicated XR Branch

Virtual reality development is not a side offering for us. N-iX Games has a dedicated XR branch with specialists who work primarily in immersive technologies. That focus means sharper tooling, current platform knowledge, and a team that is not learning on your project.

How long does a VR game take to develop?

A focused single-player experience typically takes 9 to 12 months. Multiplayer titles or projects spanning multiple platforms will take longer. We set milestones during pre-production and give you a delivery plan grounded in the actual scope before full development begins.

What if we have a concept but no game design document?

That is a normal starting point. We work with you during pre-production to translate the concept into a concrete design, select the right platform targets, and build a technical plan. Nothing moves into production without that foundation.

Can you support an existing game with virtual reality development?

Yes. We assess the existing codebase, identify what needs to be rebuilt or adapted for immersive play — control schemes, camera systems, performance headroom — and give you a realistic scope before work begins. The feasibility depends on the original engine and architecture.

Which platforms do you target for VR game development?

We develop for all major current platforms: Meta Quest 2 and 3, PlayStation VR2, HTC Vive, Valve Index, Pico, and HP Reverb, as well as PC VR via SteamVR. Platform selection depends on your target audience and budget, and we advise on the right mix during project planning.

Do you provide support after virtual reality game development is complete?

Yes. Post-launch support is part of how we work. VR platforms update frequently, and keeping a shipped title stable requires ongoing attention. We provide bug fixes, performance patches, platform compatibility updates, and new content integration as your game continues to evolve after release.
