DEVELOPMENT PHASES

Pre-Production

Every full-cycle project at N-iX Games follows a clear development pipeline divided into phases. This phase sets the foundation. We work with you to define the game concept, create the game design documentation (GDD), and build the technical and creative plan. Deliverables include a project roadmap, initial art direction, and toolchain setup (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine). This stage ensures the game has a clear scope and structure before production begins.

01
Production
Prototyping

We create playable prototypes to validate mechanics and the core loop. These fast, low-risk builds help confirm whether gameplay ideas are fun and technically feasible. Our engineers iterate quickly and gather early feedback — an essential step before committing to full development. This agile phase supports better planning and lowers long-term risk.

02
Technical Demo

A technical demo is an early, partially-playable version of the game focused on demonstrating core features and performance. It’s often used for internal review or publisher/investor discussions. By this point, we’ve selected the tech stack, built stable code architecture, and included enough functionality to show off the core gameplay.

03
Vertical Slice

We develop a fully polished portion of the game that represents final quality — gameplay, visuals, sound, and UI. This slice helps validate the production pipeline and serves as a proof-of-concept for stakeholders. It’s often used in game development outsourcing to align expectations across distributed teams.

04
Alpha

The game is now feature-complete but still in progress. Most assets are in, and the full game is playable end-to-end. We begin detailed QA and bug fixing while engineers focus on stability and integrations. Alpha marks the shift from building features to refining the experience.

05
Beta

At this stage, the game is content-complete. All art, sound, and systems are implemented. We conduct final testing, optimization, and platform compliance. This is where we polish gameplay, fix remaining bugs, and prepare for release. Beta is also the right time for public or private playtesting to gather user feedback.

06
Release

We help launch your game on PC, mobile, or console platforms. This includes certification (for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch), store setup, and deployment. Our producers coordinate delivery, while QA ensures all launch builds meet release standards. You get a stable, production-ready product ready for players.

07
Post-Release Support

After launch, we stay involved. Our team monitors performance, fixes issues, and supports ongoing content updates. We handle live operations, retention improvements, and monetization adjustments. For studios that outsource game development, long-term support is key to keeping players engaged and revenue flowing.

OUR PROJECTS

Why Us?

Track-record of success

N-iX Games has been developing games from scratch as a team for over 10 years, creating a number of success stories for our clients. Our studio has delivered projects across mobile, PC, console, and VR/AR platforms, so we understand the nuances of each. We are an official partner of Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo (with access to their dev kits) and an authorized Unreal Engine training center, reflecting the depth of our industry expertise. Our engineers and artists have contributed to award-winning and top-grossing titles, bringing that experience to every new project. When you work with us, you gain a partner with a history of meeting high expectations and delivering games that succeed in the market.

Fully aligned team

Over years of collaboration on full-cycle projects, each member of our team knows the steps of the process, their responsibilities, and how to synchronize with others. This cohesion means development progresses efficiently from phase to phase — unlike ad-hoc teams, we hit the ground running. Our pipeline has been refined through many projects, ensuring smooth hand-offs between design, art, coding, and QA. We also align completely with your needs: the team is custom-built and fully dedicated to your project’s success. You won’t have to coordinate between separate vendors for art, coding, or testing — we have all the in-house capabilities under one roof, working in unison.

Result-oriented team

We measure our success by your success. From day one, we prioritize understanding your goals and vision for the game. Our production process is transparent — you’ll receive regular updates, demos, and opportunities for feedback at every milestone. By maintaining open communication, we make sure the final product aligns with your expectations. N-iX Games is committed to going the extra mile: whether that means adjusting to new requirements or scaling up development to hit a critical deadline, we are flexible and responsive. Our team is results-driven — we aim to deliver a game that not only meets the agreed specifications but also achieves great player reception and commercial success.

What does full-cycle game development include?
Full-cycle game development means handling every stage of the game creation process as a service. It includes initial concept design, pre-production planning, asset creation (art, animation, audio), coding and engineering, testing/QA, and publishing support. Essentially, the development team takes your idea from a concept or prototype all the way through to a finished, released game (and often post-release support). When you work with a full-cycle development partner like N-iX Games, you get a one-stop solution: all the necessary specialists and processes are in place to deliver a complete game.
What are the benefits of game development outsourcing vs. building in-house?
Opting for game development outsourcing can offer several advantages. First, you gain instant access to an experienced team with a proven methodology, rather than spending time and resources hiring and training your own staff for each role. Second, outsourcing is scalable – you can ramp the team size up or down as the project evolves, which is harder to do with fixed in-house teams. Third, a development partner like N-iX brings cross-project knowledge and game development as a service best practices, meaning we’ve solved similar challenges before and can apply that expertise to your game. Finally, you get to focus on your core vision and business while we handle the day-to-day production work. In short, outsourcing full-cycle development can save cost and time, reduce risk, and leverage high-end talent on demand.
What types of projects and platforms can N-iX Games handle?
We work on projects of all sizes and genres – from casual indie games to mid-core PC games to AAA console titles. Our team has experience with action games, RPGs, strategy, VR experiences, and more. N-iX Games supports every major platform: PC (Windows, Mac), consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), mobile (iOS, Android), web, as well as AR/VR devices. We are flexible in art styles and technologies, working with engines like Unity and Unreal Engine (we have dedicated teams experts in both). Whether you are an indie developer looking to outsource game development for a mobile project, or a large studio needing a reliable partner to build a console game, we have the talent and technical know-how to deliver. We also have official status and dev kits for console platforms and are well-versed in their certification requirements, so you can be confident your game will meet all platform standards. Our full-cycle model is ideal for studios looking for efficient and scalable game development services across multiple platforms.
How long does a full-cycle game development project take?
The timeline can vary greatly depending on the scope and complexity of the game. A small mobile game might be delivered in a few months, whereas a large multi-platform game could take 2-3 years or more. At N-iX Games, we typically break the timeline into the phases mentioned (pre-production, prototype, vertical slice, etc.), each with its own duration. We will work with you to provide a project plan with milestones and time estimates up front. Throughout the project, we use Agile development with iterative milestones, so you get incremental builds and can track progress. Our focus is on delivering a high-quality game on a realistic timeline that meets your market window, and we are transparent about scheduling from the outset.
How will we collaborate and stay informed during development?
Communication and transparency are core to our collaboration. When you partner with N-iX Games, we integrate with your preferred way of working. We can set up regular check-ins (e.g. weekly status meetings or bi-weekly sprint reviews) to keep you up to date. You’ll have a dedicated producer or project manager as a single point of contact who provides progress reports, answers questions, and facilitates feedback. We often use project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.) to track tasks and share access with clients so you can see the development backlog and sprint burndown charts. For builds and milestones, we deliver playable versions to you for evaluation and gather your input. Essentially, even though development is outsourced, we make you feel as if the project is being developed by an extension of your own team. Your involvement is welcome in brainstorming, playtesting, and review sessions, and we ensure there are no surprises because you’ll see the game evolve step by step.
Do you provide support after the game is released?
Yes. Post-release support is a key part of our game development services. We don’t just deliver the game and walk away – we stand by our work and help make it successful in the long run. After launch, we can continue with live operations support, which may include content updates, new features, balance patches, and technical maintenance. We monitor the game’s performance metrics (such as player retention, engagement, crash reports, etc.) and can help you plan improvements or new content based on real user data. Our team is available to quickly address any critical bugs that appear once the game is in the hands of players. If your game requires backend servers (for multiplayer, for example), we can maintain and scale the infrastructure (leveraging our cloud expertise) to ensure uptime and good performance. Essentially, we offer to remain your development partner even post-launch, so the game continues to thrive and generate value.
How do you ensure confidentiality and IP protection?
We understand that your game idea and assets are extremely valuable. N-iX Games has strict security and confidentiality practices in place. Before starting any project, we are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to legally protect your intellectual property. Within our company, all team members adhere to internal IP protection policies — for example, we use secure IT infrastructure, private repositories for your project code, and restrict access to project data on a need-to-know basis. All the work we produce for your game (code, art, etc.) will belong to you as the client, as per our contract. We have experience working with enterprise-grade security requirements and continuously update our practices to align with the latest standards. In short, when you outsource game development to us, you can be confident that your IP is safe and handled with the utmost care.
