OBJECTIVES
To expand the game world of HOI 4 furthermore with La Resistance DLC, Paradox Interactive required high-quality 2D art and 3D modeling. N-iX Games got a great deal of experience in game art production and partnered with Paradox on their previous projects such as Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings 2, and Imperator: Rome, which made us a perfect candidate for performing this task.
WORKFLOW
Paradox Interactive provided our team with all the necessary guides, briefs, and references needed for the art production process for La Resistance DLC.
Our dedicated 3D artists created more than 20 models of historically accurate war machines, which were used by both sides of the conflict during WW2. In addition, our team created several unique types of camouflage for every modeled vehicle, according to the guideline.
Leader portraits are an essential part of the user interface and over time, became one of the most recognizable features of HOI4. That is why our 2D artist put extra attention and effort to recreate a distinctive art style of existing portraits. Following the guidelines, our team performed 22 portraits of historical figures, inspired by old black-and-white photos and also created 60 portraits of Generic Operatives characters that don’t have historical counterparts.
