Asterix and Obelix XXL3 is a third game in the series that tells a new exciting and amusing story about Asterix’s and Obelix’s adventures. And what a good story can be without hunting wild boars, drinking potions, and fighting Roman soldiers?
To create animations of the main characters of the game and their four-legged companions, Ocellus studio teamed up with N-iX Games. Additionally, they asked N-iX team to rig and animate dozens of Roman soldiers. The whole task had to be done in a limited amount of time.
Ocellus studio established the animation pipeline and N-iX team fitted into it frictionlessly.
Using Autodesk Maya we’ve created the rig of Roman soldiers and associated each bone with a portion of characters’ visual representation. Then our team created main animation assets which included idles, walking, running, attacking, etc.
Our team worked hand-to-hand with the Ocellus team, presenting our work on various production stages, gathering feedback and applying changes in the shortest time possible.
N-iX team was responsible for creating animation assets for the main heroes of the plot, Asterix and Obelix. Leaning on references, our team managed to show the character of each protagonist through their move-sets.
Apart from animating people, the N-iX team created animations for different animals: chickens, wild boars and a trusty dog-companion – Dogmatix.
N-iX Games team performed top-notch character animations of Asterix, Obelix, their foes and companions in a timely manner.
It was a pleasure for our team to work on the game, based upon Asterix and Obelix franchise and we would like to say thanks to Ocellus studio and all involved.
Let’s start with an in-depth analysis of your idea, a high-level quote, and project plan. Once we smoothen all the rough edges we can proceed to the complete design, development, and production of your game, followed by release and post-release support.
