The success of any horror game depends on how it manages to immerse players into its setting and thus bond them with the main characters. This bond, in turn, allows to manipulate the players’ feelings and create a so necessary frightening effect. After all, what else should a horror game do if not to cause terror within our very soul? That is why all sorts of bugs, glitches, and other technical issues that spoil the player’s immersion are unacceptable.
With this in mind, Stormind Games asked the N-iX Games to help them optimize their new game — Remothered: Broken Porcelain. Our cooperation implied solving technical issues that occurred during post-production and helping Stormind Games to reach an upcoming milestone.
Considering the working process, our cooperation with Stormind Games consisted of active code development, constant consulting and support, and daily sync with the client’s international team with team members scattered across different countries and timezones.
Since the N-iX Games was supposed to help the client with reaching the upcoming milestone, we were short in time, hence with no possibility to gradually get acquainted with everything. Our task was to quickly present results while maintaining the high-quality of our deliverables.
We immediately started to get through legacy (source code) and existing code base and tried to introduce edits to the game that was already on the market. Therefore, the task required a clean code and extreme precision not to harm the live version of the product in any way.
The N-iX team delivered a considerable amount of fixes to optimize the Remothered: Broken Porcelain game and make it perfect for players. Specifically, we took into consideration users’ feedback and common pain points that they reported. We tried to carefully eliminate or at least mitigate such issues to improve the gaming experience.
Our team helped to stabilize the game and significantly reduce the number of bugs. Our efforts significantly improved players’ satisfaction, which is vividly seen by how their feedback has changed over time. As a result, Stormind Games were delighted with the outcome of our collaboration, praising the N-iX team for quick onboarding and autonomy along the workflow. We find it a good start of a fruitful partnership and hope that the best is yet to come.
Let’s start with an in-depth analysis of your idea, a high-level quote, and project plan. Once we smoothen all the rough edges we can proceed to the complete design, development, and production of your game, followed by release and post-release support.
